This is not posted as a fantastic photograph capture. but as a useful tip for us pensioners and people worried about the costs of energy, not just now, but in the future.
If you have a glass porch or a conservatory, remember to open the door as soon as the sun comes out. Every day for the past 7 days I have increased my lounge temperature by 2 to 3 degrees.
Now I call my glass extension a porchary or a conservatwa, because it's too big for a porch and too small for a conservatory. You will need to keep an eye on the sunlight to close the door if it goes in for some time, your room will then contain the extra heat for a good period.
Heeellllooooo Heather! Hope you are fine! Good to see you around!
Thanks for the tip.
On sunny days I also take my pillow and blanket out in the sun and when the sun gets down, I take them back in with a bit of warmth.
That's a great tip Lady M. WE have a garden room, it sounds a bit posh but it's a part of the living room that sticks outing the garden and has windows on 3 sides. When the sun shines it makes a huge difference to the temperature inside the living room.
Good to see you back, I've missed you and wondered if you were ok.
@susiemc Hi Sue, I'm okay at the moment but my health has been very poor, including a visit for 3 hours from an ambulance crew, I didn't call them. Unfortunately I can't get out and about like I did so it's ruining my photograph hobby. But HaHo I;m still here.
I’m with you Heather! Since we moved in & renovated out bungalow we have noticed the extraordinary advantage of having a south facing glass sided living area. It gets so warm during the day when the sun shines…free heat! Take care & look after yourself!
The roll by the door reminds me of the house I owned in Southern Arizona. Had shag carpet and the previous owner cut one inch off the bottom of the living room door (there was a screen door). Cold breezy in the winter.
Thanks for the tip.
