Went on a trip out of Black Hills Park to visit three historic covered bridges in Frederick, Md. This was the first stop, Roddy Road Bridge it is believed the Confederate General JEB Stuart and his calvary crossed this bridge on July 5, 1863 during the Gettsyburg campaign of the Civil War.
Last year a girlfriend and I went looking for the three bridges but only found two. I've now found the third. It was a great day except for the 30 degree temp and wind. Rain, snow, sleet expected tomorrow. This bridge made my project last year on July 16th and is a view from the other side. I haven't had much luck linking shots but here is the link (hopefully) if you'd like to take a look
Thanks for stopping by ....
I love covered bridges! Your capture of this one is superb, your composition is great and the colors are lovely. I was in Vermont a few months ago, check out this covered bridge if you get a chance: http://365project.org/soboy5/365/2012-10-17
I'm a lover of covered bridges - in 2010 we saw some beautiful ones in Woodstock, VT but one or two were destroyed in floods the following year. Love this photo Leslie
So very nice. I love covered bridges. Loved your other shot as well. BTW, I couldn't get the link to work, but I went in and typed it without the "> and it worked. I have the same problem quite often when I add a link.
