One more trip to the blossoms with my brother and two friends that also love photography. This is a new view of the basin for me. We rented one of the paddle boats and paddled around the basin for an hour and twenty minutes. Not sure which is more tiring walking it or paddling it but checked this off my bucket list. An overcast but no rain day.
Can't believe we actually watched a gyrocopter fly over the National Mall about 30 feet away from us and not one of the 4 of us got a picture !!!!!!!!!! We had all put our cameras away after taking pictures all morning. We knew it seemed very odd but it did have a US Postal insignia on the tail. Couldn't believe getting home and it's all over the news on tv. Guy arrested and bomb squad and bomb robot surrounding it. Apparently he was protesting something and there was no bomb.
Excellent and unusual perspective. Can't believe you captured this with so few people. Wonderful. And it's wild that you saw that guy who flew in on the gyroscope!
What a beautiful photo and love all the petals on the ground, stone work and water!! Beautiful trees and place!! Love this...FAV!
The guy landed on the grounds of the Capitol!! Kind of scary to think he could just fly in like that and no one tried to stop him!!! Too bad y'all didn't get a photo!!!
I really enjoy the blossom, the tree trunks and the sculpture, but for me the wall although a sympathetic colour to the trees acts as barrier. I would have been tempted to crop above the wall.
