Well, we left Maryland in the rain and arrived in Albuquerque to rain. Good thing the opening morning of balloon fest happened before the rain but we hadn't arrived yet. I had signed up to do the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk in Santa Fe so we checked into the hotel and off we went. We took the scenic route suggested by Jane and throughly enjoyed it. Bob was great pulling over anytime I asked and even back tracking at times. We had two hours in Santa Fe before the 3 o'clock meetup. At 1:30 it starting pouring as we were eating lunch but the skies cleared and the sun came back out by 3pm .We had a great time meeting fellow photography lovers and a wonderful walk around the art gallery streets in Santa Fe. Haven't gone through those photos yet. Well need to get some sleep before our early wake up for the balloon festival tomorrow. Hoping the weather permits another mass ascension tomorrow .
Looking forward to your shots! We almost went this year but will for sure be going next year. We have friends that live there so we will stay with them!
I love hearing how your day went. The desert can indeed be beautiful as your photo shows so well. I think it will be a go tomorrow. The rain is not due until afternoon, and the wind forecast is within the range!
Hi Leslie! I follow Jane and am at the Balloon Fiesta also. We went this morning and it was wonderful! Have a great day tomorrow. Now following. Love today's photo! Fav!
I can't wait to see you images. We spent a few months in Santa Fe one sabbatical and would love to spend even more. Great sites, great restaurants, wonderful people...have a terrific time!!
Gorgeous scenery! I love New Mexico, and especially Santa Fe.....hope you have a great time at the balloon festival....it is definitely on my bucket list, and I am looking forward to your photos!
Gorgeous landscape. So looking forward to seeing these photos. Always wanted to go there so now I will be going there through your photos. No pressure ;-)
Very nice picture. I did the KelbyOne walk this past Saturday in Columbia,TN. The weather could have been better but the experience was fantastic. Our walk leader really above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. He arranged with a restaurant to open early for breakfast and later another restaurant set up a room for lunch. My first kelly walk but not my last.
@trm this was my 3rd and so glad I found one and the timing was right. The leader was so so but without him there wouldn't have been a walk. The past ones had great leaders. It was the only walk in New Mexico, at home there are plenty to choose from.
Lovely scene that I remember so well....love Santa Fe!! Looking forward to your balloon shots....would love to get there for that festival one of these days!!
