The history of a rocker. Dad bought this rocker 60 years ago for their first child and that would be ME. It rocked and rocked their two daughters and two sons not getting much of a break with only a year separating each birth. Then this well worn rocker got a break and sat patiently in the living room only occasionally getting in a rock or two. Twenty four years after rocking me it was back to work with Mom and Dad rocking their first grandchild. It happily rocked a total of three grandchildren and then went back to quietly sitting in the living room. I smiled today looking at this 60 year old rocker and the memories it holds. I am blessed to still be able to capture these moments with my mom. Maybe Dark Sixty won't be so bad after all.
What a great story about this rocker. We have one that has just about the same story and is at least that old. It sits, almost abandoned now, in our guest room since there is no room for it in the living room or elsewhere in the house......I'm sorry about that.
LOL @maggiemae I feel the same way!
