A bit fuzzy unfortunately but given the speed of attack it had to happen. I did wonder if I was too early in the year to see the loch where there are often Bonxies (Great Skua's) with their young. I think the answer was yes as this particular individual would not let me go any further as he was still protecting the nest. Given the number in reserve should I have attempted to go any further I beat a hasty retreat.
