My sister-in-law sent this photo to me when we had just arrived back in Texas and I just had to share it with you. It is a Spurge Hawk-Moth, a Sphinx moth that flies during the day. They are originally from Turkey but quite a few years ago they were introduced to Minneapolis to help control their Leafy Spurge weeds. They were successful and have now made it to Montana to eat whatever they can find. I just thought this was such a great photo of this moth I would post it on 365.
Thank you so much for your comments, my sister in law takes wonderful photos and texts them to me all the time. Photography is such a nice hobby to have and share with others, that is so true for this wonderful project!
@nicolecampbell He is sitting on a red geranium, I'm pretty sure this is a closeup because the flower looks so large. We drove over 4,400 miles on this trip and saw so many wonderful sites!
