The lady at the garden center said to crowd my herbs, that they don’t like space around them. I put them in my kitchen flowerbed with the wandering Jew and Asian jasmine. They are all flourishing, I thought the sage looked good with the water drops from the sprinkler this morning.
I immediately recognised your healthy looking sage Lou Ann . beautiful green colour tones the furry textures and great veining of the leaves . Such a lovely herb . My "old " sage bush in the garden is in flower - the bees love it ! The Sage is one of the "Salvias"- the same family as my "Hot-lips " (and here endeth my lesson for the day !!) ha ha !
It's great to learn about all these plants I don't ever touch - these sure are healthy looking - they only thing I've ever tried was mint - and it's taken over everything! Can't kill the plant - but smells good! Lovely close-up
So lovely Lou Ann...so healthy & a delightful close up .. I so like the water sparkles// We have 'wandering jew' here but, it is a pest & we quickly pull it out...Must be a different variety.
@happysnaps this is called by so many names, purple Jew is another name. I just pull out the plants that are trying to take over, it doesn’t seem to phase them. Ha!
@ludwigsdiana after re-reading my narrative, it is confusing! The Jew and the Jasmine are both ground covers, the Jasmine is low to the ground and the Jew is about 6-8” tall. They make a pretty flowerbed and the herbs have done well all crowded in among the ground covers. 😊
Your sage looks really good- I think you'll be enjoying that in a lot of meals! I planted parsley and chives- we'll see if mine does as well as yours. Nice shot!
I didn't know that herbs thrive when crowded, good to know!
