These sidewalks were bustling this time a year ago. I know the restaurants and small businesses are so hopeful the vaccine is going to beat Covid so things can return to normal. For the word “hope” today.
It does look like a ghost town. Not so here at the moment. It is summer we haven't had any locally acquired Covid cases in NSW and the tourists are here in droves.
Here too, and despite our spread rate getting down to just over 6%, with the new strain starting its way across our country, it's hard not to be discouraged. Hoping we are seeing the worst of it soon and can start improving as a whole.
So sad. Here it is going ok at the moment - small businesses are open and have some customers. However, the government just announced to close the borders again for at least a week. They hope that this way no new cases enter and that no future lock-downs are necessary.
So happy Nadya is here - her return flight is booked for February 13th, but is preparing mentally to stay a little longer ;)
Poignant image Lou Ann, such trying times the world over, almost everthing closed down here to, but with the help from our goverment we hope our small businesses will make it through :)
We were in Fredericksburg last March, when it was already closed down and your shot made me longing to go back there since it is such a wonderful area and we haven’t seen it at its best ...
Yes we have great hope here too Lou Ann....fingers crossed. We have many cases but hopefully in the next week or so we will have leaked & the vaccine will be beginning to kick in.
Great shot of the vacant streets!
can't even have a friend come in for a cup of tea after a walk.....yet!.....hopefully!!!
