No farmer’s market? No problem!

The community farmers market wasn’t open today so I took photos at the grocery store. It just seems early for pumpkins but they were in huge boxes at the entrance to the store. The pumpkins top left were named “Cinderella pumpkins”, I loved that. The faux red poppy on the bottom left was in a beautiful dried flower arrangement in a big white pumpkin. So like it or not real pumpkins are here! I suppose if they spoil everyone will just buy new ones.

Ooh pumpkin soup and pumpkin scones - I have never tasted either! I tasted pumpkin pie in Newfoundland with Louise and Ken @weezilou but Louise said it was so bad it should never have been served! A taste experience I still need to have! Lol!

A gardener friend of my sister’s in Lubbock brought her a dozen pumpkins last week, she said “”what do I do with them”? I told her about preparing them and cooking the flesh for pies and breads etc. She didn’t sound too excited, ha. @pamknowler I do love a delicious piece of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. @olivetreeann you are right, fall is almost here, it snuck up on me this year.

Wonderful colourful collage! I saw an advertisement today for pick your own pumpkins starting at the beginning of October, but surely by Halloween they would be well passed their best.
