What to do with oncoming traffic?

We were so surprised when driving on a typical farm road to see a zebra come around the corner from the right!

I just switched the engine off and waited. Obviously with my camera in hand.

I got a few shots through the window, then waited to see where it will go.

That would certainly be a shock around here. I hope it got safely to where it was going. We get a lot of dead deer around here, hit by cars. Besides being in an unusual place, it seems odd that it is not with a herd. Do other zebra expel juvenile males or something? Beautiful capture of the zebra and I love the “zebra” shadow stripes on the road.

If I rounded a corner and saw a zebra it would be even more surprising! He looks like he walks along this road a lot- but how fun for you to be there at the right place in the right time! Good catch!

@shutterbug49 I think it got lost Debbie, it did climb up an embankment where we saw some more zebras on the other side :-)
