Death's Hawkmoth carepillar

getting bigger by the day and wrecking my Jasmine. It is just clinging on the trunk at the bottom, maybe it will go underground soon and turn into a moth! Hard to believe that it started out as a beautiful yellow/green caterpillar which I posted last year in December.

It really blends in with the bark. I know that there are some caterpillars here which if allowed to strip a tree more than once will actually kill off the tree. I wonder if that will be the case with this moth and your Jasmine. Might be something to research if you don't want your Jasmine plant to die. It sure does look strange!
