Dikkops in the shade of an Olive tree, by ludwigsdiana

Dikkops in the shade of an Olive tree,

not quite sure how many olives will still be falling down. As we are in lockdown, it was not allowed to pick the olives. The birds ate some and the rest just fell down.
Love the dikkops, but why on earth can't you pick the olives??? No-one else is going to handle them.

They are so very well camouflaged. They are also very similar to our Curlews - they must be a distant relation. They're fabulously hidden against your background. :)

How can it possibly effect coronavirus spread if you pick the olives?

I'm with Jane, what does the olive have to do with the CV. Unless, after they are picked, they might be around people processing. Never mind. great shot.

@golftragic @momamo @koalagardens @grammyn @jgpittenger @rickster549 We are only allowed out between 6-9am. As it is still quite dark and cold then, nobody wants to pick. I still have enough that I cured in previous years :-)

At least the dikkops get a tasty treat :)

@ludwigsdiana I get not wanting to pick in the cold dark! How interesting that you make your own olives. "cure" them
