Sitting for some hours in the Lounge at Wellington Airport, I practiced getting a shot of a plane just taking off. The angle I had showed one of the Wellington beaches behind the runway.
I have to say the zoom on my camera is the best!
Three good things;
1. Our shuttle to the airport was free.
2. Being in our own vehicle and heading home in very warm temperatures but with a cold change expected
3. Not having to listen to some awful music that people make nowadays!
Just caught lift off there......you have the same camera that Ant & Jo have so glad it's good. We bought it Anthony for his birthday & I must say the photos of the kids they send over are really good & of course all SOOC as there is no editing going on! Wellington looks very hilly...I knew it was but you can really see it here! You will be safely home now I would think which is great after you have been traveling again.
@aglennc As you can imagine, I looked at lots of planes taking off at different points with different sizes. With this size of plane I took a guess at where it lifted off and zoomed in and waited!
@philcameron59 These planes go to smaller places around NZ, Phil. I chose this one because this size of plane took off exactly at this point and so I could plan the photo! Was so pleased to see that I stopped the propellers!
Nothing like going home....wonderful capture of the take-off.....what is the max zoom on your camera? I got the Nikon p600 with the 60x optical zoom, and now I cannot find the darn thing....so frustrated!
@panthora Thank you Osia for all your wonderful comments on my photos! They are always interesting to read! My camera has a 50X zoom and if I can hold it steady the max zoom shot will be good and clear!
