UCM by maggiemae

UCM

Still in Auckland and being transported by “Uber’ back to our motel by our hosts who lived across the Bridge in Castor Bay. They wanted us there as guests for a dinner with John and his Indian motorbike fame to sign a new Indian motorbike that was in the home in the hallway!

Scene going over the Bridge.. some UCM (unintentional camera movement) here!

Three good things;
1 Our host was a Commercial pilot and never knew that both John and I had once had Private Pilot’s Licenses! Of course the conversation was mainly in the air.
2. Bought lots of chocolate for SIL who can’t go out and buy what she fancies.
3. Lotsa wine!
I really like this! The blur gives it a painterly effect and I like the pops of blue and red.

It looks great ... The Harbour bridge is a great spot to get a city scape .. but a little unforturnate that you can not get out and set up your tripod... so you got to make the most of it.. and you did..
October 30th, 2016
@julzmaioro I was in the back seat too and had to zoom out the window while the car was moving. Would have been super with a tripod!
October 30th, 2016
What a brilliant shot!

Bep
Cool night picture. Love the painterly effect.
October 30th, 2016
This is beautiful.
October 30th, 2016
@gijsje As I said, Bep - it is purely unintentional! I did hope I might get a much better one but we were over and in a different place in 5 minutes!

Lovely effect - :-)

A great cityscape enhanced by the blur. I just commented on Edwin Ramos bear picture and left a note on there for you and I quote:
I totally agree with Maggiemae, but Maggie, do you know that one of the most or the most dangerous animal is a deer?
October 30th, 2016
@bruni Really? I know you couldn't outrun a deer but surely they are more afraid of you than aggressive?

Beautiful night cityscape shot. I like the UCM. The UCM gave your image an contemporary artsy look. a fav for the beauty.

Wow a brilliant photograph , the lights are amazing a fav
October 30th, 2016
There you go with chocolate and wine again! Are you sure that isn't what caused the UCM of this photo? (; actually I rather like it.
October 30th, 2016
that's a very creative and artistic example of icm :)
October 30th, 2016
I really like this, and am also impressed that among your other talents, you also had a pilot's license. You really are a lady of many talents.

Great effect.

@skstein All in the past, Sandy - nothing to speak of in the present -except a certain skill to eat chocolate and ice-cream!
October 31st, 2016
Cool effect and colors

Pretty nice image considering how tricky it is to take from a moving car!
October 31st, 2016
@dide Thank you Dianne - thinking about it, it could have been awful!

Nice contrasts and blurred lighting

A happy accident Maggie! I often find they are the most creative images, and this works surprisingly well!
October 31st, 2016
cool night scene
October 31st, 2016
haha. i'm new to the term ucm, but it made a great picture :)
October 31st, 2016
@xof I just made that term up, Kristof - thats why its new. The usual one is ICM - intentional camera movement when you physically move the camera while taking a photo. In this case the car was doing the bumping up and down!

This works well Maggiemae but we didn't get to see John signing the bike!
November 1st, 2016
@vignouse Of course I took a picture, Richard - may post it! Watch this space!
November 1st, 2016
eating chocolate and ice cream requires equal skill as flying a plane, don't you know? :-) we may have to have a challenge or the UCM!
November 1st, 2016
@summerfield The skill with ice-cream and chocolate is putting a good disguise on so no-one knows who that person is scoffing all those goodies!
November 2nd, 2016
Nice shot- it could pass as a modern type painting of the city. Yum on the chocolate and ice cream!
