This little rogue.. by maggiemae

This little rogue..

I didn't check my pot plants in the Sunroom for 1 day and this is what I found! He had eaten just about every single flower on this geranium plant! Holes through the leaves too. I couldn't identify it even after a fair bit of googling but decided it couldn't be allowed to live.
its not the fall army worm is it?

A fabulous close up of this beautiful looking but nasty little critter!

@kali66 It could be, Kali - I looked at this but this one seems to have more colour. Though the description says a raised bump at the tail end which this one seems to have. Still, the fall army worm is an absolute pest so glad I ended its life.

The very hungry caterpillar has descended onto your plants! A shame it created so much havoc in such a short time.

Ooh my ! what a greedy grub - I hope you put an end to his shenanigans before he destroyed more of your plants !

He has been busy. Definitely a hungry caterpillar.

@grammyn Holes in all the leaves, no flowers remaining! There were about 10 flowers on this plant, Katy!

@beryl I sprayed the whole of the plant - so any hidden eggs that hatch will starve, Beryl. Ha ha!

Lol - he reminds me of the children's book - The Hungry Caterpillar!!
March 16th, 2024
@maggiemae oh my goodness! I bet it was easy for you to get rid of him then wasn’t it?
March 16th, 2024
@robz No chance of a beautiful butterfly from this hungry caterpillar, Rob!
March 16th, 2024
@grammyn I did feel a bit like a murderer, Katy but knowledge is a strong adviser!

Ooh he’s a beast! No longer there hopefully! Squashed!!
March 16th, 2024
@dide I think it is the Fall Army Worm - decimates corn and maize!

It's a pity. I would place such a rascal with a pot in a larger container and watch it slowly turn into a butterfly.
