All dressed up to get skirts caught in the bicycles!

This is the start of a bike ride along the foreshore of Oamaru. They are dressed up but seemed to manage decorously on their bikes. Anyone could ride and the trail went up the coast a bit to the Waitaki Boys High School whose pupils use the trail to go to and fro without car traffic. It is most scenic and passes through fields and old houses, groups of trees and by the railway line.
I am filling up a space here in November even though it is a recent photo as this album is 100% but it won't go over 100% because of these spaces, I would think! Oamaru has so much going on, its hard to keep up with the many opportunities! Today there is a community barbecue down at the Harbourside where yacht races are happening too!
Great shot

Fantastic shot, Maggiemae. Are you going to join them on the bike ride??? Looks like it would be so much fun. Love those farthing bicycles--have you ever ridden one? I know I have lots of questions--but they just look so cool.

Cool- put it in black and white, run it through a Dauggertype effect and you'd think you were posting something from the early 1900's!

Great capture MaggieMae. I don't envy the one that rides the penny-farthing - they are a cow of a thing to control.

Great shot - certainly evokes an earlier era. Love the pennyfarthing!
