No Macro Mode Here - Purely Selective Focus Technique
And I actually got a much better shot of this tiny spider and its web with this technique on my cheap digital camera than by using macro mode. The spider is about 1/3 the size of my little finger nail. Its web is only about 5 inches in diameter. I am very pleased! I think my old photography professor would be, too! To you, John Frair, wherever you are and to you 365ers who pushed me into mastering the old film techniques in digital! WAAHOO! Now on to "zoning!"
WOW! This does make one pause and think, doesn't it? Your camera did a fantastic job . . it's all in the "eye" of the photographer and knowing how to use (really use) the camera. GREAT photo and great work. Gives me some hope!
