Oh no! Another cone shot! by marlboromaam

Oh no! Another cone shot!

Yep and when spring and summer get here the "naysayers" will be griping about flowers and beaches and swimming pools and everything that entails! ROFLOL! Then fall and winter again! God bless the "naysayers" because they're not happy unless they're putting something or somebody down!

I am waiting to hear from an email I sent to Pinterest about their terms of use and rights to the original pinned user content. I hope it's just an ugly rumor. You know how fast falsities spread all over Facebook and how slowly and rarely the whole truth gets told. It's often taken out of context and misunderstood, and it's less often fully investigated before people jump the gun and are ready and quick to condemn whether justified or not!

If there's any truth to the warp factor 10 rumor and gossip mill on 365, I will be deleting all of the favs I have pinned to my boards, along with my Pinterest account, since I will have little use for it, if I can't pin my favs to it! Will let you know as soon as I do. In the meantime, I won't be pinning anything. Such a shame, too! I know several folks who joined 365 because of the photos on Pinterest, too!
Too funny - their problem not yours. I really like the perspective on this and the colour and lighting. I remember collecting cones when we were little and spray painting them for decoration, yours are just beautiful as they are!

I like the details. Are "they" complaining about pinecones now? I've seen a lot of people talking about bad vibes this year and rude comments. True story?
February 17th, 2012
@purdey LOL! I'm so happy you saw my humor in it, Sharon! Those are nice memories you have of pine cones. I think I did almost the same. Thank you! Your kind and thoughtful comments are always appreciated!
February 17th, 2012
Hey, nothing wrong with a cone shot...when it's THAT cool!!
You're not the only one with boring winter shots. I can't wait to use my new DSLR in the summer!!
February 17th, 2012
@cmc1200 Not exactly pine cones yet! But, I figured my post would get them started! Bad vibes? I've had lots of 'em! Rude comments? A few have been directed my way but, I've seen worse directed at others who did nothing to deserve them. Yep! True story! Thank you for your comments, Caryn! Most appreciated!
February 17th, 2012
@keyt427 LOL! So, Keyt... are you saying my shot is boring? Ha ha!!! JK, gal! I know what you meant by that statement. LOL! Thank you for your comments! I can wait for summer because I can't tolerate the heat and humidity like I could before I was struck down by menopause. I say start using that DSLR now, gal! Don't wait!!!
February 17th, 2012
its a cool look... If I take my glasses off, it looks like monks marching in a line, thru a canyon.... can you see it???.....
February 17th, 2012
@marlboromaam bad vibes?, rude comments? by who?.. coneheads?
February 17th, 2012
@joeboxster You're keeping me in stitches! My stomach will be so sore tomorrow from laughing! LOL! "monks marching in a line, thru a canyon"... Now I know you're making fun of my fantasy shots! Coneheads!!! That's it! ROFLOL!
February 17th, 2012
Haha, at least there are different things to gripe about when there are seasons! Over here, it's always "Too hot! I can hear my brain baking!" all the time all day all week all month all year long. I get tired of hearing myself complain! 8D Great shot, this one! Love the textures and hues.
February 17th, 2012
@marlboromaam no not making fun of them... I just need new glasses, I think...
February 17th, 2012
@myautofocuslife LOL! I know what you mean, Livia! Thank you for your sweet comments! Really appreciate that you stop by!
February 17th, 2012
@joeboxster LOL! Joe, there is nothing there but cones, I promise! LOL! Now you know, I might just have to do something with "Monks marching through a canyon" ROFLOL! Oh! I need to go to bed! I must be tired cause I'm laughing too hard!
February 17th, 2012
@marlboromaam i have to go to bed too ... because i'm seeing too much!..ahahaha

February 17th, 2012
@saaski Yvonne, that's so sweet! Thank you!
February 17th, 2012
I agree with a few others that I like this one better. I am glad that I did not get involved in pinterest as I did not understand it and good things can go to, well you know where and then we have to leave them behind. I joined here to improve on my photos and luckily have met some of the nicest people like you.
February 17th, 2012
@marlboromaam absolutely!!!!!
February 17th, 2012
@darsphotos Thank you, Darlene! Yes, I saved the better one for last! I am not so quick to judge Pinterest yet. I often find rumors and lies spread far too fast and the truth goes by the wayside if not totally uninvestigated on the internet. Funny how people are so ready to believe the lies and the bad over anything that's good and true. Even funnier how people just take somebody else's word for it without checking it out for themselves. Sadder, still... I know a 25 year old college graduate that cannot pick out the facts from the opinions in a newspaper article. Critical thinking is a skill that seems to have gone to hell in a hand basket.
February 17th, 2012
Another fab cone shot! Great POV I always enjoy reading your descriptions too, they are so cool! :0)
February 17th, 2012
Spectacular detail and contrast.

@denisedaly Thank you, sweet Denise!
February 17th, 2012
Well i like your shot, i think its got great detail :) its sad that people are being bitchy. Shouldn't matter what you photograph or what your skill level is as long as your having fun! keep on with your pine cones ;)
February 17th, 2012
Lovely group of pine cones....with fab lighting, great textures and detail. Naysayers are negative and there is no place for negativity on 365. A couple times in the past I read some comments on the blogs and will NOT read them any more. It was like they didn't like any kind of photo. Well poo on them is all I can say. I don't read that garbage any more and only keep positive friends as followers ..... I don't know about pinterest, but good luck with the outcome.
February 17th, 2012
@mantha Thank you, Samantha! Really appreciate your thoughtful and kind comments! =)
February 17th, 2012

Nice cones! I liked your idea about pinning your favorites and started a cloud board, but I guess I will put that on hold. I'm curious as to what is going to happen.

February 17th, 2012
Love the pine cone, Maggie. Beautiful layers of color and texture. Don't worry about the pinterest . . naysayers are the worst. All doom and gloom. I won't read negative blogs on here either. Life is too short. The main thing is for YOU to stay happy right now, my friend. :)
February 17th, 2012
@meadow Thank you very much, Cheryllee! I appreciate every word you wrote! =)
February 17th, 2012
@karenann Aww! You are too kind and sweet, my friend! Thank you! I'm not worried. Just want to put things right one way or another. I've seen so many misunderstood policies and rumors and lies on Facebook take off like a rocket. I have learned to thoroughly investigate before I go flying off the handle. =)
February 17th, 2012
Illegitimi non carborundum! A very wise 365 member once told me 365 was about having fun doing something you love. Please don’t let the attitude of others steal your joy. If people don’t like what you choose to photograph they don’t have to look at it. As for pinterest, you know I would not be here without it. I love seeing my photos on it. My work is not worth stealing. If I was really concerned with that I wouldn’t be posting them anywhere online.
February 17th, 2012
@copperheadglass LOL! I think somebody is using my own words against me. Love you, Meredith! I just heard from one lady lawyer that she is going to check further into it and let me know. Also, I've done a little digging myself and I picked 5 photos I pinned that had more than two repins. Everyone who repinned the photos still has the original post link to 365. So that's one plus. 2. The photo on Pinterest is small! You certainly can't do much with it and it's certainly not worth a professional printing press at about 500px by 500 plus px To get 300 dpi for a professional printing press, it would reduce the size to about an inch which is not worth looking at as any decent "print" graphic designer would tell ya! Will post further updates as I they come in! =) and... I'm guessing that's Latin? Translation please?
February 17th, 2012
You are correct it is Latin and one of my father's favorite sayings. Loosely translated it means "Don't let the bastards grind you down".
February 17th, 2012
@copperheadglass Ahh! One of my dad's favorite sayings, too! =)
February 17th, 2012
Well I dont see the monks lined up in a canyon...but what I do see is another FANTASTIC shot from you!! Great job! Can wait for summer to photograph flowers and pools and lakes and boats and campers and ............etc...bring it on naysayers.
February 17th, 2012
@nlaurie LOL! Laurie, that's a fantasy shot for another day I'll have to work on for Joe. He was too funny and you are, too! Thank you for your humorous, kind and thoughtful comments! Always appreciated! =)
February 17th, 2012

February 17th, 2012

February 18th, 2012
Super shot! Pine cones are a few of my favorite things. The textures and colors in your photograph pop out so well! Did you use HDR here?
