Trumpeting Spring... by marlboromaam

Trumpeting Spring...

Carolina wild jasmine - Our South Carolina state flower. Filler shot and posting early for tomorrow's shot. Have a periodontist appt. at the crack in the morning. I know I'll get behind on your pics, but will try to stay caught up today and catch up as soon as I can when I get back tomorrow.
That's a pretty flower. Very delicate. Good luck with the teeth!
March 4th, 2012
Great shot. Love the colour. Hope all goes well! :)
March 4th, 2012
@lindag Thank you, Linda! Not so much the teeth as the "gums"... Oiy! Appreciate your comments!

@lizzy_lu123 Thank you so much, Lisa! Appreciate your comments!
March 4th, 2012
Love the contrast of the background against the vibrant flower
March 4th, 2012
lovely!
March 4th, 2012

@wenbow Thank you very much, Wendy! Appreciate your time to view and comment!
March 4th, 2012
What a beautiful shot, Maggie. I love yellow flowers but not familiar with various varieties of them or plants as you are. Good luck at the Periodontist and hope your foot/ankle is doing better. When it rains it pours sometimes. Take care and do not rush back here.
March 4th, 2012
@wenbow Thank you very much, Wendy!

@petra Thank you, Petra!

@denisedaly Aww! Thank you, Denise!
March 4th, 2012

@horselover Thank you, Jennifer!

@mantha Me, too, Sam! Thank you for your lovely comment and the view!
March 4th, 2012
@darsphotos LOL! Darlene, if I don't know about a plant I find and am curious, I just Google it. Anyone can do that and read and learn. =) My ankle is fine and I hope my gums are okay. Thank you for your lovely, lovely comments and the view! Much appreciated!
March 4th, 2012
@joeboxster LOL! Those are the same leaves from last summer. They've been through the mill since then. They will get new leaves when the plant had done all of its flowering for the spring. I guess you could say it is an evergreen vine. =) Thank you for your comments. Hoping my gums will be fine so I can keep my teeth in my head! LOL!
March 4th, 2012
@marlboromaam gosh..if your gums go bad..., there's always super glue! lol
March 4th, 2012
@joeboxster It's more than that! LOL! The bones start to deteriorate that hold the natural teeth in place. Sort of like a severe osteoporosis of the jaw bone, etc. I still have my teeth and want to keep them forever if I can, but I inherited my grandparents' genes with gum and bone trouble.
March 4th, 2012
Mags - Like the contrasting colors, nice. Gook luck tomorrow.
March 5th, 2012
Love the contrasting color in this. I like the juxtaposition of life and dead. Nice shot.
March 5th, 2012
@ronphotos365 Thank you, Ron! Appreciate those comments very much!

@jaboney Thank you, Mike! With the dead leaves in the background, you're right! Appreciate your comments!
March 5th, 2012
The yellow is so cheerful! Great shot and good luck at the periodontist!
March 5th, 2012
@twinsplusone Thank you, Sharon! Appreciate your comments and well wishes!
March 5th, 2012
Lovely photo. It certainly makes me anxious for Spring.
March 5th, 2012
Such a pretty yellow..do they smell beautiful like white jasmine?
March 5th, 2012
So beautiful! Great composition. I love the bright yellow next to the dried leaves. Very well done!
March 5th, 2012
@marlboromaam how is your ankle feeling?
March 5th, 2012
So pretty
March 5th, 2012
Hope your ankle is better
March 5th, 2012
@johns366 Thank you for those lovely comments, John! Much appreciated!

@cindyrez Thank you, Cindy! I think white jasmine smells much sweeter than the wild yellow trumpet variety. I like the white but much prefer the wild!

@copperheadglass Aww! Thank you, Meredith! Really appreciate your sweet comments, as always!
March 5th, 2012
@horselover It's just fine, Jennifer. It was just twisted. Thank you for asking!

@kerristephens Thank you, Kerri!

@klemieux It's "A" okay, Ken! Thanks for asking!
March 5th, 2012
Very colorful and sharp. beautiful.
March 5th, 2012
Beauty of a photo, Maggie. It's trumpeting just for you . . and I'll be thinking about you tomorrow! Taking care of it sooner than later is key. Praying that the gums have not deteriorated to any great extent. I have some jaw (joint) pain from arthritis. It can be hell . . hope that you are not in pain. I know that your ankle must be recovering nicely. Can't keep us down, girlfriend. Don't worry about us . . we'll be here when you're ready. :)
March 5th, 2012
Love your POV. Works so well against the background of the brown leaves, Maggie. Yellow flowers are so pretty.
March 5th, 2012
Very pretty flower. Love the yellow color! Hope all goes well with your appointment.
March 5th, 2012
Love this even without the bee bum! Beautiful state flower! Hope you get a good report on your gums tomorrow.
March 5th, 2012
@sheg Thank you very much! Appreciate the comments and the views!
March 5th, 2012
@karenann Aww! You are too sweet, gal! Thank you for all of those kind comments. Hate to hear about arthritis in your jaw. That must be very painful. Is there nothing that you can do for that pain? Ankle is fine - was just twisted. LOL! No, can't keep us down!

@purdey Thank you, Sharon! Really appreciate your kind and thoughtful comments, very much.

@myautofocuslife Aww! Livia, you are so kind! Thank you! I appreciate every word you wrote!
March 5th, 2012
@wannabe Thank you very much, Catherine! Really appreciate your comments. Me, too! =)
March 5th, 2012
It's a "come and go" pain, Maggie. The less stressed I am the better it is. Under stress, I clench my jaw too tight . . thus the pain. Just use hot packs and aspirin. And deal with it. Arthritis runs in my family. Bummer.
March 5th, 2012
Gorgeous flower. It looks like it's getting ready to sing!
March 5th, 2012
@karenann Yes, amazing sometimes how all my grandparents ailments are now on me and skipped my parents. But they say they can pass 2 or 3 generations before they manifest again. I've got arthritis, too, in my left knee, lower back and neck. It's tolerable though. Glad the heat packs and aspirin help. That stress just can get the best of us though. Wish we could eliminate it completely!
March 5th, 2012
@loragill What a nice description, Lora! Thank you for those sweet comments! Much appreciated!
March 5th, 2012

March 5th, 2012
gorgeous capture.
March 5th, 2012
@deburahiru Thank you very much, Deb! Appreciate your comments. It's hard to shoot the jasmine without getting bombed by a bumble. LOL!
March 5th, 2012
@buggus Thank you, ma'am! Hoping to! Appreciate your kind comments!

@lorihiro You are too sweet! Thank you for your lovely comments! Always appreciated!

@peterdegraaff To me the white jasmine smells almost too sweet. This wild variety is wonderful without over powering the nose. Thank you, Peter!
March 5th, 2012
@emmac Thank you very much, Emma! Appreciate your time to comment on and view my pics!

@sangwann Thank you, Dione! =)
March 5th, 2012
Pretty and lovely, I miss spring too much!
March 5th, 2012
Does it have a pretty smell like most Jasmines... love the smell of them..
March 5th, 2012
@lianasaarepera Appreciate those comments! Thank you, Liana!

@debsulzberger I prefer the smell of the wild jasmine to the domesticated white variety myself. I think it's less sweet but more powerful. Jasmine was the scent Cleopatra used to seduce Mark Antony, although I'm sure it was the Egyptian variety which may be totally different from this. =)
March 5th, 2012
Pam

March 5th, 2012
The dafodils are starting to push up here. I think the smell of jasmine is intoxicating!
March 5th, 2012
The imperfection of the leaf with the beauty of trumpet makes for a nice contrast!
March 5th, 2012
@pammerritt The scent is tantalizing, Pam! Thank you for your lovely comments and the view!

@traciwood It is a nice bloom and scent, Traci! The wild variety is the best though!

March 5th, 2012
@cocobella It's not as strong as the white domestic variety and that's why I like it better. Gums and teeth are holding their own and ankle is just fine! Thank you for your lovely comments, Corinne! Very much appreciated!

@sharritta Thank you, Sharon! Appreciate your kind comments!
March 5th, 2012

March 5th, 2012
@rmkk Aww! Thank you, Marlene! I'll do what I can. The wild wisteria should be blooming soon along with the wild dogwood trees in my woods. Got some wild cherry trees fixing to bloom, too! I'm doing fine! Teeth and gums are holding their own at the moment. Had a good check up and deep cleaning done this morning. My mouth is finally back to normal after it being so numb and looking and talking like a poor stroke patient. LOL!
March 5th, 2012

March 6th, 2012
@aleksandra Thank you so much, Aleksandra!

@heidievans73 Thank you, Heidi! Hoping the frost didn't hit the wild wisteria last night with the temps dipping down to 30 degrees, or I might not have many flowers too shoot. =(
