It's the beast from the movie, Krull

I just know these movie people have to get their ideas for monsters from nature! What could be more horrifying than that sight growling down at you?! Then those of you who knew me back in 2011-2012, know I have a fascination with these spiky balls from a sweetgum tree.

The detail in nature is simply breathtaking - and close ups really show how intricate it all is. And scary!!

That is such a cool shot of what I call spiky balls!! The detail is excellent!! I am going to have to watch this movie you speak of in the description.

@dawrenda Thank you very much! Yes, the eyes and mouth of the beast in Krull look very much like a spiky ball! It's a wonderful fantasy flick with a prince, a princess, the beast, and adventure - including Fire Mares that can fly with flames coming out of their hooves! I recommend watching it more than once. =)

@ludwigsdiana Thank you, Diana! Sweet gum trees and their spiky balls are common here in the southeastern USA. Most folks despise them. I'm fascinated by them. LOL!

@wakelys A friend of mine once told me that if I hated something, to study it and look at it in different ways. Then I might learn to love it. =)

@kvphoto LOL! Thanks, KV! You don't go barefoot around here anyway - snakes!
August 23rd, 2020
Spooky face! I agree nature provides far more monsters in appearance and habit than film makers could ever dream up!
August 23rd, 2020
Weird. I don't think we have them here?
August 23rd, 2020
Fav : great focus on the texture ! And yes it could look like a monster !

@marlboromaam I even hate stepping on those ball things when I have shoes on... aggravating... but snakes... oh my... I’d have to get my fishing buddy on that... he loves snakes.
August 24th, 2020
@kvphoto I don't mind king snakes or black snakes, but the copperheads and the rattlers around here are very, very scary! Do you have any idea what anti-venom cost these days?
