My 24th wildflower find of spring... by marlboromaam

My 24th wildflower find of spring...

Although it feels like July out there now. This is Erigeron strigosus - commonly known as Daisy Fleabane, Common Rough Fleabane, Prairie Fleabane or Slender Daisy Fleabane. Also in the Aster family, it's native to the Carolinas and Georgia. More info on this little wildflower here - http://namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=531

@milestonevisualmedia LOL! All I do is search the above site by description and compare their images to mine, and read about the characteristics to ID what I find. It's not hard and I like to learn about what grows on my little patch in the woods. =)

@taffy Thank you, Taffy!

@joysabin Thank you! I believe there are varieties all over the north American continent. Probably some variety in Europe and the UK too. Interestingly, I thought we had two varieties, but I think there's only one around here. Sometimes, the blooms appear much bigger than these. I'll have to check more thoroughly when I see them.
