Jack Frost was here! Frost patterns on my car windshield. Shot 12/26 during the big freeze. BOB!
I'm taking my own poll because I'm very curious... For catching up on your photos, I scroll back to where I left off in the feed and begin commenting on those I follow. How do you manage it? I've noticed that some only comment on your image if you've commented on theirs... then there are those who never seem to comment on yours no matter how many days or weeks you've commented on theirs. 365ers with dadillions of followers are the exception in this case. Not trying to stir the pot, just curious!
To answer your question, for me it depends on a number of things. If I'm on my phone I will likely just click on favourite, as I find typing much on my phone tiresome. If I'm on my desktop (as I am now) I'm much more likely to make a comment. Whether or not I do either depends more on the photo than on the photographer, most of the time. None of this is set in stone, however :)
Beautiful frosty detail here, makes a great abstract - as for how I keep up - I try and comment on everyone who has commented on mine, either first thing or last thing everyday. It’s hard to keep up to tell the truth but I do my best. I also like to scan the PP, TP, and CP pages and sometimes find those I follow there that I missed! I usually I don’t comment on anyone I don’t know but I do fav them as there are outstanding and inspiring photos there.
Nice pattern. I comment on the photo's I like. Do not keep track of who comments on mine, but I read every comment I receive. So feel free to not comment on my photo's you don't like or think are boring.
Your question is very interesting. I believe receiving comments and commenting on pictures is one of the things some people really like on 365 (me included). I find the commenting culture to be very friendly rather than being critical(in the positive sense of the word). I usually try to comment at least one picture for every person I follow but this is becoming harder and harder as I try to follow a lot of people. I also try to leave a comment on the picture of people who commented on mine. I also look at the comments people leave to check if I need to respond.
Like Renee I like to look at the trending and curated pages and sometimes I'll comment somebody I don't follow. Overall I'm sure I am missing some opportunities to comment.
Beautiful frosty patterns!
I also work my way back to the last point where I commented. I comment on most of those I follow, but some days it depends on how much time I have, or if I feel like I have anything to say! I love getting comments and appreciate everyone who takes the time.
I like the patterns. I start commenting with the newest photo posted, so I might miss some older ones. It does seem that many comment only if you comment on theirs. Not always, of course.
Like your frost pattern - you definitely had some heavy frost for a few days. As to the other part - I try (or did try for 11 years - been not so good lately) to comment on all those I follow, and if there's a new one that comments, I'll try to comment on theirs. Also try to look at the newcomers once a week and see if anyone has posted a picture that catches my eye.
I, too, start at the current feed photos and work my way back to where I left off the day before. I follow a lot of people and would not have time to comment on every photo. Like @spanishliz it is generally the photo that compels my comment. I also check the Popular Page and Curated Page for inspiration and new people to follow. I also will admit to sometimes “fav”-ing with no comment as I like the photo but am running out of fresh comments! :)
Lovely. Hoping for some snow here this winter.
Trying to get better at commenting! Will scroll back if I have time. I do like looking at the new faces page though.
Superb patterns!
As for the inquiry: I've come to realize that commenting to each photo in the feed is taking me waaay too much time. A long time ago I deleted my social accounts so that I can make proper use of my time. And recently I have found myself spending way too much time commenting on photos. I only comment when I have something to say. And if time allows me to scroll all the way back to the last image I saw the previous day. I have also come to a point that I intended to give up 365 as well. And deep down, I don;t want to do that. So I gave myself permission to only post and comment whenever I feel like doing it. Otherwise it becomes a burden.
@amyk That makes a whole lot of sense, Amy. Thanks for replying. =)
@bec001 Thank you, Rebecca. Appreciate your comments.
@monikozi Thank you, Monica. I get it. Some people post a whole lot of images and some people can't comment on every one of them. It can become a burden.
I love this shot! For me it all depends on how much time I have. I wish I had more time to spend here as I love looking at everyone's photographs. I sometimes wont post a days photo because I know I will not have time to spend viewing, and commenting. I need to STOP doing that!
Cool looking frosty shot. I do a little bit of everything when commenting depending on the time I have. Sometimes I scroll my feed and comment and other times I go through my last few pictures and comment on the people who commented on mine. My priority is the people who comment on mine since they were nice enough to take time to do that. Sooo, I do a little bit of everything depending on how much time I have.

@dkellogg Thank you so much, David.
@phil_howcroft Thank you, Phil.
@talmon Thank you, Jan. For me, that defeats the purpose. I will always comment on your photos. =)
