After all this rain until the yards are mowed. If I upload a day early like the previous two days, maybe I won't lose power. I figure if I don't - I'll surely lose it! I need more wine.
Debby is just off our coast now and when she comes back on land, she's going to dump a lot more rain and bring 50 mph wind gusts. All, this evening through the night into tomorrow morning. I hate storms in the dark because you can't see what's happening! Some weather people say we'll get another eight to 12 inches and others say four to six. But she's supposed to be gone by late tomorrow afternoon. For those of you unfamiliar with this situation, can you guess what trees do in saturated ground with high winds? Yeah, they topple bringing down power lines with them. I heard chainsaws down the road early this morning. Hope no one was hurt and no home was damaged.
Pretty image. I hope the storm isn't as bad as predicted. I agree, that storms at night can be very scary, especially with wind and when there are tornado warnings. Hope your trees aren't damaged!
She is quite the storm. Hoping you keep power and no trees fall. My brother was happy to only have a foot of water under his house. They are expecting the river to flood again, though from all the runoff.
@danette I know it left Florida in a big mess. I hope your family will recover with the damage it caused and quickly. We've had three full days of rain and wind. I thought we were going to have a repeat of 2015 with the rain trains. As of yesterday, my patch had over six inches since Monday. Debby is still moving very slowly and expected to dump more rain on us all day long today. We're still under flash flood warnings and tornado watches. Our rivers were seven feet above normal yesterday. I hate to see what they'll be after the storm leaves North Carolina dumping all that rain there as it flows back into South Carolina. So stressful! I'll be so glad to see her leave.
@robz Thank you very much, Rob! Most appreciative.
Nice colour contrasts in this capture. The fickleness of these storms can drive a person quite mad. Hang in there, a couple more days and hopefully things can start to dry up.
Hoping the best for you during the Debby event.
@maggiemae In the winter when they are leafless, they creak and groan. =)
