Upstairs, out the window in the night... Really is better viewed large.
Another attempt at the low-key theme. The security light on the power pole is the light source. I didn't add texture - it's the window screen. There is still pure white in the highlights on the sweet gum tree, so it's NOT "flat" with only shades of gray. My old photog prof harped on "flat" shots so much, I can't do that!
Gorgeous, Maggie .... I love night shots! Your exif info doesn't show it, but what was your iso? Were you able to keep it down to 100-200? I don't why, but I love this theme. Yet am afraid to try it. I think that yours is so beautiful.
@karenann I experimented with all different kinds of settings. I put the camera on my gorilla pod and set it up on the window sill. The exif info for this one says... Exposure program "normal," Light source "daylight," iso "64," shutter speed "16 seconds," fstop "2.8," Focal Length "5.9mm." Course, I had to set the timer, push the button, move away from the camera and let it take the pic without me touching it, until it was finished. No, the conversion to black and white eliminates my exif info on the copy. I should learn how to put it back on the edited version but, it's still on the original. I always edit copies and save the original as it came out of the camera. Thank you for your kind comments! Karen, just experiment. You won't blow up your camera or your computer. LOL! Play with it, for crying out loud! I'll bet you can do some great stuff!
