More important things I should be doing...

This is my last shot for the get pushed challenge given me by Wendy Helton @photohoot -- to portray depression.

Avoidance of the stuff you know you should be doing -- procrastinating, doing anything other than doing the hard work or facing the issues.

I think the frame I've put on it is a bit gratuitous but it look pretty bald with nothing and I was talking on the phone with my son as I played with it on ribbet.com. Honestly, though, uploading to 365 is NOT what I should be doing. So, here it is.
A story in an image, good work!

Well I'm your get pushed partner for next week.
FYI - I list on my profile page all the challenges I've done for Get-Pushed - that may help you.

Looks like you enjoy having fun with your photography - of course if you don't' why do it right? I'm giving you to options. It is up to you which you select but based on what your profile says I'm hoping you can do option one. But if you prefer option to that is up to you.

1) In your profile you mention that you had a dslr and it is broken and only does manual settings which you don't remember how to do. If you still have that camera my challenge to you is a very basic setting. F5.6 aperture and a shutter speed of 1/100 or 1/125 (or what ever you need to do to get it not too dark or too light when your aperture is 5.6. If you don't have your manual and you don't know how to set your aperture just Google your camera and setting aperture.

2) A song - whatever song you want but a photo that goes along with a song you select. Perhaps you may even add a link to the song if you wish.

Hope you like your challenge options - if not please let me know and I can give you other options as well!

As a procrastinating depressive gambler I can understand this perfectly

@myhrhelper I would so love to do option one, but when I said the old SLR (film not DSLR) was broken, I meant that it really doesn't work now. At some point I might like to try to spend the money to get it fixed if possible, but not now when we're spending so much money on house. That camera was totally manual -- no automatic, and I would really like to learn again and better how to use those settings. If I have time and can connect with my sister-in-law who does have a new DSLR camera, maybe she'd let me experiment with the settings you specify. Could you give me a clue what type of photos I'd be going for with those settings? To quote from an old book, Stranger in a Strange Land, -- "I am only an egg."

I wondered if you had the camera or not - the challenge was if you had it but didnt' know how to use it - I wanted to push you to use it. I completely understand the cost factor - I'm going to think about one more option for you so you have two to choose from. Go with either a song or my second option that I will give.

The 5.6 is a pretty basic setting and usually works outside if it's not terribly cloudy out or very, very sunny . It seems to be a good starting point. I am going to give a link of the very first camera setting challenge. If you do borrow her camera you could go with the aperture priority mode with 5.6 and don't worry about the shutter speed. That will be a big step too.

Here is the link to the different camera settings challenges. The very first challenge was 5.6. I started the camera settings challenge so I can learn how to use my camera without using the auto settings. http://365project.org/myhrhelper/365/2011-12-12
