For my get pushed challenge. Another shot featuring sumac. This is near the entrance to Deep Creek Road off 177. See Sept 30 for more about sumac in general.
@pjr It does, doesn't it. I forgot about that sunflower past it's flowering. Meant to mention in my description that it was also a sign of autumn. This type of native sunfower can end up in fields where it's not wanted -- so even though it's the state flower of Kansas, some farmers dislike the sunflower. My mother-in-law, who loved flowers -- especially roses and pansies, hated the looks of a sunflower.
