The seed remains

Every year at the beginning of November, I put up a memorial altar to remember and honor some of the people who have died during the past year. It's set up on the top of our piano. I'll be taking it down on Sunday, so I took some photos to share with others. Since the piano was my grandmother's, her picture is in the center, even though she passed away in the '80s. This year, three people are remembered here.

Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart is pictured on the far left. Just to the right of that is a photo of her and her husband at their wedding in 1974. They celebrated their 40th anniversary shortly before she passed away last Spring. She was a highly respected Neopagan priestess, known nationally for her knowledge and experience and also for her large collection of Goddess figures collected from around the world.

On the far right is Russel Weisbender, a classmate of mine from first grade through our high school graduation in 1969. He died unexpectedly in June while snorkeling in the Bahamas.

To the left of Russel is Jerald Ingersoll, father of my very good friend, Jack Ingersoll. I never had the priviledge of meeting him, and wish I had been able to. I can see the resemblance Jack has to his dad in this photo.

Sadly, my friend for whom I made this collage: http://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2014-10-12 passed away about a week ago. Her picture will be on my altar next year.
What a beautiful thought and way of honoring those you cared for.

A very lovely way of honouring those that are special to you. We hang a wind chime for every pet that we have lost and I swear I can hear their whisperings when the wind dances with the chimes.
I am so very sorry for so many losses in your life.
