Charles @zosimasy gave me the get pushed challenge of wide angle. He said I didn't have to have a special lens (which I don't have). I could do some post processing stitching together (which is what I did do here). I drove out in the area where my dad and uncle had the farm I went out to as a kid and where they had grown up. I wanted a wide open, road goes on forever, kind of vista. You can tell where the two are put together, but it's not too bad, considering my lack of experience. Earlier in the week I had experimented with the feature in the set up menu of my little camera called "conversion lens." The choices are telephoto, wide, and off. It's usually in the off position. But, no big surprise I guess, the wide setting got me the same view as when it's off. My camera's default is to try to give me some of the peripheral vision I usually have. Which means it makes everything look farther away. I have to zoom in most of the way to equal what my eyes see in terms of size and distance. Setting the "conversion lens" on Tele just saves me some zooming in if that's what I want as a default. It doesn't give me any more zoom -- just prevents me from widening out. What did give the feel of wide angle was changing the aspect ration in the "image size" menu. 3:2 and 16:9 even more so. But all that does is chop some off the bottom and top. So... anyway, here's my post processing version of wide open spaces and wide angle view.
