I'm posting this and another of the ferris wheel taken later in the evening -- can't decide which I like better. I took a few when it was lighter also, but the sky was blown out in some places on clouds. I really love some of the pictures others have posted of ferris wheels and don't know how to transfer what I see with my eye into the camera image. I prefer the other one because of the darker sky. This one is taken more directly underneath so it puts the composition off a little bit in my opinion. Having said that, they are both terrific shots so I'm not sure what you were concerned about
If you have a tripod one of the fun things to do is to stand full onto the wheel when it is rotating and take a long exposure. I did this in 2014 and want to try again some time. http://365project.org/joansmor/extras/2014-08-16
