We should have had 3 hours in the early hours of June 30 between the arrival of our flight from Dulles airport in Washington DC, and boarding a short flight to Manchester airport, where our choir members would board a bus and ride to Conwy. However...we sat on the plane at Dulles for nearly 4 hours with delay after delay. Do I need to say we missed the flight to Manchester?
So...we took the train to Conwy, instead. Well, first a bus from Heathrow to Reading train station and THEN the train(s). I think it was Wolverhampton we were to transfer to a train to Conwy. We were running a bit late and I was afraid we'd missed the connection, but no...we didn't miss the train to Conwy. That run had been cancelled. So were told we should take another train to Shrewsbury, and then transfer to another line or a later run of the original one, to Conwy.
It was on the way to Shrewsbury, looking at a map, that I realized we were going to go through, or past, Telford! My thoughts immediately went to Beryl @beryl If Frank and I had not been dead tired and intent on getting to Conwy, I might have been tempted to jump off for a quick stop. 🤣 Never mind that I don't even know Beryl's address. Just the thought that I was that close was a thrill.

! wonderful of you to think of me as you went by ! But what a journey you must have had - Travelling around on the trains is so unpredictable with the turmoil of strike actions going on and on !
Thanks my pains have eased a lot and now on the gradual decreasing of steroid . In fact took the bull by the horns and have booked a week up in Porthmadog (I haven't been able to go up pre covid) in spite of the weather forecast predicting quite wet weather!
