The Dinosaurs Make Welsh Cakes

See yesterday's post for more information on Wales Week and why the Dinosaurs and Neanderthal Men are making Welsh cakes. http://365project.org/mcsiegle/Alternates/2020-02-14

Here's what I wrote on the Facebook page I've set up for Wales Week Kansas:

The Dinosaurs were as good as their word (see previous post) and set to helping Wales Week Kansas by making a batch of Welsh Cakes. Here we see Rhamphorhynchus, Stegosaurus, Trachodon, Allosaurus, one of the Neanderthal Men, and the Triceratops Twins taking turns cutting the cakes out of the dough. The Apatosaurus and the other Neanderthal Man supervised the griddle. The Dimetrodon rolled them all in sugar after they were cooked. And the Triceratops Twins (the rascals!) tried to convince the others to let them do Quality Control (i.e. sampling the finished Welsh Cakes.)

This is just one of many batches needed for Gwen Colgrove's presentation on the Great Plains Welsh Heritage Project and Welsh settlement in the Great Plains region happening next Sunday 2/23, 2:00 pm at the Meadowlark Hills Community Room (2121 Meadowlark Rd, Manhattan, KS.)

Welsh cakes are also needed for the Sunday service of College Avenue United Methodist Church on March 1st (St. David's Day, of course). The choir is singing a Welsh piece. Welsh cakes and tea follow the service. Visitors are always welcome at CAUMC.

We'd better get to making more batches!
How industrious of them (and appetite provoking)

These look good so I had to look up a recipe. They look like a tasty breakfast or accompaniment to tea or coffee.
