I was first introduced to this lily with the name of “Naked Lady” but another common name is “Surprise Lily.” Both refer to the fact that its leaves come up earlier in the summer, then die back, and when the flowers come up later they appear on a long naked stem with no leaves to give an indication where they are precisely located—Surprise!
I love the story behind this and will have to pay closer attention to when and where mine show up. Also I think mine look a little different than this but this is a beautiful capture of yours
