We are currently camping on the banks of the Ashburton River. The plan is to spend three nights at this glorious spot before heading into a caravan park in Onslow to get the washing done and fill the water tanks. The only downer is that a crocodile was spotted in the area a couple of weeks ago so we'll keep away from the water's edge.
What a lovely camping spot. This name rang a bell - we stayed at the Nanutarra Roadhouse on our way from Karajini to Exmouth - it was just lovely with its walkway over that beautiful river and so many birds. They was even a Osprey on a nest - cohabitating with finches who had taken over the bottom sections of his nest! :)
@robz We’re about an hour and half north of Nanutarra. The friends that we’re travelling with camped here last year and there were heaps of birds. We’ve head a lot of different calls but haven’t seen many.
