We spent the morning wandering around some of the local nature reserves. The wildflowers were beautiful. I found several different native the orchids. The one on the left is a white spider orchid, but I don't know what the other one is. Can you help me out @jodies ?
Lovely shots, I have no idea what variety they are though. I will put the message for Jodie in here because she won't get it if it is in your commentary. @jodies
Sorry It has taken me a while to respond, I somehow missed this one, beautiful shots, I think the second one may be a dancing spider orchid, I'm just going by pictures I've found on a website. It is quite stunning, I have never seen one so well done on finding it.
I have included the link to the website, see if it works. http://chookman.id.au/wp_orchids/?page_id=2611.
Thanks Jodie, That's what I think it is too. I found it in a really comprehensive orchid book at the Tourist Bureau in Toodyay. I thought all spider orchids had long petals.
@merrelyn -- I do love wildflowers! Thank you for your concern . . . We decided at the last minute that I was well enough to stand the 4 hour flight to join Taffy and her husband and friends at a house in Mexico so we are basking in warm sunlight for a week before heading home to snow in Chicago, and orthopedic appointments.
