We visited a "free range emu farm" today, but the emus are not actually being farmed. They are really inquisitive birds and were very alert to the sounds made by my camera. I wasn't concerned about them, because they were behind a wire fence. Luckily the mesh was large enough for me to shoot through it. I really liked this one's curly "hair".
I love this shot Merrelyn, especially those curly head feathers. I chased a group of emus around a neighbours paddock trying to get a shot like this, the closed I tried to get the further they moved away.
@jodies Thanks Jodie, I was lucky that they weren't wild emus. They were used to people and were really inquisitive. I was surprised at differences between the birds and the curly head feathers on this one really caught my eye :)
