I had to go to Fremantle today, so I thought I'd share a few images of some of the lovely old (by Australian standards) buildings in the city.
Fremantle is a port city in Western Australia that's part of the Perth metropolitan area. It's known for its maritime history, Victorian architecture and remnants from Australia's days as a British penal colony.
A huge thankyou for the wonderful comments and favs for yesterday's bird shots, getting each of them onto PP and TP :))
Great collage Merrelyn and I was particularly interested to see these images today. We have been busy sorting through and scanning old slides and negs and last night we came across one of the building in your top left picture and couldn't place it! Now I know where it was, do you know the name of that one?
@judithdeacon I love the buildings in this part of Fremantle. It's the old P & O Hotel, which was opened in 1901. The Notre Dame University, took out a 21 year lease on it in July, 2000 and have refurbished it as student accommodation.
