We spent most of the day in the small town of Wentworth, just over the border in New South Wales.
Our first stop was at the confluence of the Murray and Darling Rivers. It was quite a sight. The water coming down each river was very different in colour.
After a great lunch at a local pub we visited a little model steamship museum. All but one of the models, were made by Rodney Hobbs, the man who runs it. He also volunteers on the Ruby. After seeing his great model of her, we stopped to check out the real thing on our way out of town.
Although she wasn't open to the public today, one of the volunteers working on her, invited us aboard and gave us a tour of this lovely old lady.
Just charming! When I saw the name, "Wentworth", I was sure I'd been there, and when I read it's in NSW, I know I've been there! How fun! Friends in Sydney have taken us many places in the times we've visited them, but I don't recall what the draw was here...
