Fantastic- these are so hard to do well. I like the patterns in the water too making a striped background. It would be nice if the bird had more air in front of his beak instead of behind him. Yes, I know it was hard enough to get this, but it is something I try to think about as I frame and crop nature shots.
@falcon11 I initially thought the same Allison but then thought that the vegetation in the left foreground complemented the overall composition....as if the bird is leaving rather than going....cheers...
@falcon11 Appreciate the comments and the thoughts for future shots. IF I ever get another chance I'll try my cropping both ways - I can see without the vegetation this might have been better with a little more space for him to fly towards - looks kind of like he was being chased out of the frame (think I did catch him just before he got out of range). I'm always open to more ideas. Thanks for your thoughts.
