The Count is Down to One

Yesterday I found 7 monarch caterpillars on my different milkweed plants - today they were all gone! This one was on a different plant - either an escapee or a new find. Could not believe it. Hopefully some are on to the next stage. Will keep looking!
Not even on milkweed...maybe going to go to chrysallis soon. The others are around...they are so good at hiding.

Such a crisp, clear image of the beautiful caterpillar. Hopefully, you'll be able to photograph a chrysalis soon!

What a beautiful monarch. You're so lucky to have milkweed. I tried to plant some this year to attract the monarchs and they just wouldn't take off in my drought-ridden yard.

Love this. I talked to a Monarch expert a few days ago. He said it is a weird year, that there were very few Monarchs early in the summer and now there is a surge of them and they are everywhere.
