Best on black. Had an early shower before I went out to check on my hungry little caterpillar - hard to believe he was less than an inch and the circumference of a piece of yarn just a few days ago. Several of the little limbs are now bare! Liked the raindrops on his back.
I had seen and looked at many, many caterpillars before, but about a month ago I stood and watched, and photographed them with my macro lens. Watching really close up, and for quite a while waiting for him to pose just right, I was amazed at just how fast they can demolish a leaf. Then straight on to the next one, there again, really that is the sole purpose of their lives, they are just like eating machines, to provide the energy for the adult butterflies.
He is a lovely caterpillar but he reminds me on a long licorice allsorts.
