The Woods are Alive with Serviceberry

Better on black. While the dogwoods haven't come out in full force in the woods yet, the service berry blooms are having their time to show off. They were beautiful while walking off the beaten path.
nice lighting here!

The light! Wow, Milanie, this is a beautiful scene! I was just thinking about serviceberries earlier today. Ours are just beginning to show up in the woods. I look forward to them every year!

@tonydebont I really hadn't heard of them by that name either - my husband has always called them Sarvis - but when I tried to find that in the dictionary there was no such thing. Think Sarvis must be an Arkansas name. The serviceberry blooms here just a week or 2 earlier than the dogwoods - about the same size tree - flowers grow in clusters and from a distance appear more ball like than they do up close (I was about a foot away).
