Does a Great Job of Camouflage

Better on black. Never realized what natural camouflage the road runner has - couldn't get his crest up very much but better than the other two shots. They're fast scurriers!
I'm amazed he stood still. Wonderful pic!

Great shot... they don't stay in one place very long!

Love it. I didn't realize you have Roadrunners in Arkansas. I think of them as birds of dry areas, and Arkansas is not dry, is it?

nice focus..same question as Anne above....only roadrunner picture i've seen was one my son took in New Mexico?

This is quite the capture considering how quick these characters are, and that they rarely stand still. Beautiful feather colors.

@annepann We generally average about 45" of rain a year if I remember my Arkansas History lessons - though we've been much drier this year. They're not uncommon here though I've only caught a picture a few times. I've seen one in this area 3 times near the golf course - first time I was quick enough to catch him.

Wonderful capture! They're common around here but extremely difficult to capture because they rarely stop for very long.

Great capture. I had not realized how well road runners can camouflage themselves.

Wonderful capture. I have never seen one before apart from the one chased by Wylie Coyote.
