While on our walk along the Delaware River yesterday, we came through a wooded area where the trees were quite tall and straight. Looking up took your breath away. The trees seemed to be touching heaven. I remember as a little girl feeling the same about my dad. He towered above me and seemed to be close to heaven. But when he sat down and I climbed into his lap, he didn't seem so tall at all. My dad does not seem so tall now (since I'm a grown woman) and I no longer climb into his lap (his great grandchildren do that now), but he still stands strong. He has been a source of strength and love for me; a representative of my Heavenly Father and an example of steadfastness to many. I'm thankful for his influence in my life. I know how blessed I am to have such a great dad, so this picture seemed to be an appropriate way to honor him and Father's Day.
As Rick says, a great tribute to your father. And your picture is a reminder of our strong and steadfast Heavenly Father - who'll always be there for us.
