Last shot from the archives! Another picture from 1983. This angel was hand-crafted for me by my friend JoAnn who lives in Saint Louis. Her father had told her all throughout her childhood that she was not artistic and shouldn't even try to take up painting or crafts because anything she made would be ugly. But there was something inside of her that didn't believe him and so when she was able to, she started taking art in school and even taught herself how to bead. She made four of these angels- two in gold and two in silver, and to this day they are some of my favorite ornaments. Another thing that I see when I look at this picture is how far I've come as a photographer. It's driving me nuts that this shot is not in focus! But it's been a busy day and I forgot to bring my camera to the holiday gathering we went to tonight and therefore missed an opportunity to shoot something better! Such is life...
Some of the messages we get throughout life have such power in influencing what we do or where we go. Thank goodness some of us follow our dreams in spite of, and it is amazing what we can do.
