...and this is one of them. I'm not sure who stuck this crazy candle holder (???) in the ground next to this street sign, but it must have made sense to them.
To light the streetname sign, obviously. Now why such a sign appears to be standing in the middle of someone's garden is another question. Riddles, wrapped in mysteries, inside enigmas.
@mzzhope Thank you Hope! It's good to wonder. @taffy Thank you Taffy! (o: @sangwann Thank you Dione! @jennwithtwons Thank you Jenn! @yaorenliu Thank you Yao! This house has been empty for quite some time, but it is looked after somewhat. But who knows why it is unoccupied? That could truly be the beginning of a great mystery. @alia_801 Thanks Alia! What story would you give it? (o: @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! If you think it's hard to see it this way, you should see the color version! @cimes1 Thank you Carole! It worked best to put it in sepia, but I wanted some of the color to be hinted at, so I faded in some greens. @tuya Thank you Claire! @kaesebiscuit Thank you Mr. Biscuit! So many questions!! It's enough to give you a headache!! @bkbinthecity lol Thanks Brian! Well, it's scenic alright! @salza Thanks Sally! I'm not sure but it could have been some teens being funny. It doesn't really matter though- the picture is just plain funny. @archaeofrog Thanks Katie! In full color it was very difficult to see the candle holder. SC seemed to be a viable option to bring out the subject and subdue the overly cluttered background.
i actually find the sign itself rather intriguing... is the street named scenic? or is it pointing the way to a scenic drive? bizarre and decidedly whimsical!
@northy Thanks Northy! Yes, this is the street name- although if you drove on it looking for something scenic you might be a bit disappointed! Our street used to be called Island View Drive. We live on a top of a mountain. Let's just say the people who named the streets in this area were a little challenged in the "name should associate with area" department.
That sign can't be overlooked. like to go further down a bit to see if the name rings true. somehow I doubt it. but great catch with the candle holder stuck to it.

@eudora Thanks Diane!
