I love the way the moon, normally so far away and remote, is in front of the words. Makes me think, yes, there's a bigger universe out there than my petty concerns.
Many thanks to each of you. I struggled with coming up with something not so typical for this shot and was about to pull out an old Christmas card to take a picture of the word when I noticed the moon was on the rise. Almost immediately this picture popped into my mind and the Blue Hour was just gorgeous last night- very crisp and clear. The tricky part was getting a good shot without a tripod. And after the fact I realized I'd had the camera on the Priority setting when it should have been Aperature Value. But in the end it came out just fine. Thanks so much for the feedback. I love it when your responses show my aim was successful!
Wow! My most gracious thanks to all of you! I've been a mini-slump the last two days (always happens around the holidays when I miss family) and to come on here and see all your favs and comments and this shot on the PP was a huge pick-me-up! I can't thank you enough!
Thank you Lisa, Alia, Marybeth, Yao, Bruni, Annie, Bill, Gerry and Vikki! And thank you so much for all the favs. I had no idea when I first posted this shot how much people would like it! I originally thought it might be overworked, but it has definitely grown on me. I am way behind after a bit of melancholy, so I will do my best to get caught up. Thanks again to all!
@annied Thanks Annie- I'm working through it. It's not serious- it always happens around Christmas as I miss my mother, my family and several dear friends but it's all a part of life.
Love the blue glow and the silhouettes.......great use of the moon.
