Buried
in the ground
surrounded by the dark
waiting
the light calls you forth
you push
you reach
and soon your yellow blossoms will proclaim the resurrection
Buried
in the tomb
surrounded by the dark
waiting
The Light calls you forth
You push
You reach
And all creation mirrors the joyous cry

Thank you all for the nice compliments on the poem. Sometimes these things come to me! I had a bit of a scare with this one though- I was posting late and my eyes were getting heavy. I was down to the last two lines and closed my eyes to envision where the poem should go and nodded off!! In the process, my fingers landed on the back space button. Yes, I erased the whole poem!! After a moment of panic when I realized I could not "undo" what I'd done, I realized I might be able to remember what I'd written if I really thought about it. Thankfully I was able to remember it and in the process figure out the best way to finish the second stanza too. Phew! That was a close one!
@vesna0210 Thank you very much Vesna! I cannot sit down and write a poem as a true poet does. If the words come into my head I have to put them down right away- otherwise they come and go. I thought of the word "resurrection" when I took the picture and the poem flowed out when I posted it. But if they hadn't come, there would be no poem here! Thank you for your confidence in me!
