Snowy Day by olivetreeann

Snowy Day

It was snowing all day and it's not supposed to stop until midnight. Looks like there'll be some pretty photo opps tomorrow if I'm up for it. PT is scheduled for the afternoon, so we'll see...
Looks nice in b&w

FAV love it for the story i tells so simply. A perfect shot to gear up for next month!
January 30th, 2019
Lovely shot but I like Dawn's chairs better! Brrrrrr....
January 30th, 2019
I wish I could click my fingers so I could sit in your garden for a few minutes. You snow is so inviting as we continue to struggle through very hot temperatures.
January 30th, 2019
What a cool shot :)
January 30th, 2019
Very nice snowy scene! Hope your PT goes well.
January 30th, 2019
I hope the PT helps you get stronger. Sometimes it makes me feel worse before it helps. I love the serenity of this shot but there is sadness too, or is that just me?
January 30th, 2019
nice capture xxx love the snow. Drove for 40 miles today to find some!
January 30th, 2019
Great composition. Lovely wintry scene.
January 30th, 2019
Snowing here this morning. I have to go to my old bosses and do 1099's for him either today in light snow or tomorrow in frigid single digit temps. Think I am vote for light snow.
January 30th, 2019
Beautiful shot and winter scene.
January 30th, 2019
this shot makes a person feel kind of cold looking at the snow. We didn't get any last night, all rain but we are to go down into the deep freeze today.
January 30th, 2019
it looks a bit cold and bleak - I like the effect of the falling snow with the dark background. hope you get just the right amount today to be pretty without being a nuisance.
January 30th, 2019
I like how you have captured the falling snow. Brrr.
January 30th, 2019
Great shot to capture the cold winter day.
January 30th, 2019
I can see the snow, and the darkness makes it look so bleak. I believe you must have been shivering when you took this.
January 30th, 2019
Nice composition .
January 30th, 2019
Like our day to day. Not being outside and that`s feels a pitty.
January 30th, 2019
How did you edit this out of curiosity? Great shot by the way

@milaniet @grammyn @nicolecampbell @wyomingsis @janewinfrey @eudora @pandorasecho @mrspedwards @joansmor @haskar @sangwann @sailingmusic @helenhall @henrir @mittens @randystreat @cocobella @pyrrhula @sfeldphotos

Thank you to one and all for putting this one on the PP with your views, comments and favs!

@eudora @pandorasecho PT went very well in spite of muscles and joints that didn't want to work with me! Very sore tonight but I think I'm on the right track with this!

@nicolecampbell It was 12 degrees F today which I'm not sure what that would be in celsius but believe me, you'd only want to sit here for about 30 seconds in that temp! Sure wish I could box some of the cold up for you to help cool things down!

@wyomingsis @sailingmusic @henrir @randystreat
Yes Brrrrrrrrrrrrr indeed!!

@joansmor Yes, light snow over single digit temps hands down!

@randystreat not shivering- that's how quickly the snow was falling. Today, however, there is much shivering going on!

@sfeldphotos converted to black and white (it almost looked like it in color so why not fully commit to it?), sharpen, slightly adjusted the contrast and a small crop for better balance in the picture- nothing too fancy.
January 31st, 2019
@mrspedwards You must really want to see snow- I don't think I'd go looking for it!
January 31st, 2019
Looks cold! I like the look of the falling snow.

January 31st, 2019
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! You and Melody are probably the only folks I can think of right now that have more snow than us!
January 31st, 2019
Hope the big freeze isn't affecting your region too badly Ann. Good luck with the physio.
January 31st, 2019
One can understand why the chair is empty..... Stay warm!

@golftragic @aikimomm
Thank you Marnie- it's winter. The cold is to be expected!
Thank you Phoebe- we are- the wood stove is cranking!
January 31st, 2019
Great wintry shot.
February 1st, 2019
@olivetreeann I guess so, but we don't get your sort of cold so it's always interesting.
February 1st, 2019
I can’t even begin to imagine that type of cold, makes for good photos though
February 2nd, 2019
@daisymiller @kjarn
Thank you Daisy!
Thank you Kathy!

@golftragic The term "cold" can be kind of relative. While we're thinking 8 degrees F is cold the folks in Wisconsin and the Dakotas are laughing because their winters are routinely in the sub-zero temps! I was visiting California once with a friend and our hostess apologized for it being so cold. It was 50 degrees F and we'd just come from temps in the mid-20's. We just laughed at her and said it was jacket weather! So, it seems to me that every place has it's cold and then it's really COLD!
February 2nd, 2019
@olivetreeann You are absolutely right, of course Ann. The same logic applies to hot weather equally. When I used to live in a much hotter place 30-35 degrees was quite manageable. Since I've come down here that is bloomin' hot.
February 2nd, 2019
Degrees Celsius, of course.
February 2nd, 2019
@golftragic Yes- true of hot as well. One of these days I'm going to get a chart that goes from Celsius to Fahrenheit because I'm horrible at doing the math in my head!
February 2nd, 2019
@olivetreeann I grew up with Fahrenheit, then Australia adopted Celsius in the 1970s (I think it was) as part of the whole changeover to metric from Imperial. I still quite often think in feet and inches when estimating sizes. No-one I know ever uses centimetres when commenting on how far to the pin on a golf green. No, I lie, one friend who's in the building trade does, her husband is German too so a metric man.
February 2nd, 2019
Brrr!!!
February 6th, 2019
@gardenfolk Yes it was!
February 7th, 2019
@golftragic Thanks for the chart- that's a pretty easy conversion- I hope I can remember it!
