This is not a a black and white conversion. The pixel stick was programmed to white instead of multi-colors. The dual patterns were created by first crossing the room with the stick in a "loop-de-loop" pattern and then returning with a swinging motion just above the floor.

@shutterbug49 Yes- it really was fascinating that the person never really showed up in most of the pictures. I think that's mostly due in part to the fact that we do not emit light and light is the only thing a slow shutter speed can record when the room is dark.
